a reassuring reply from Karen

Team,

1) Kelly - thanks for setting the date/time. Thanks for the email, too!

2) I think we will do fine. We just need to come together this upcoming week and make a plan.
Can everyone meet at 7:30 on Saturday morning in our classroom? We should all bring ideas and firm them up!

3) I've worked with a high school (many times - was on the committee) through my volunteer activities at GE. I'll think back as to what we did. I know my old department is currently planning the holiday event with them. I'll contact them today and bring those ideas on Saturday - no worries with this - we will come up with some good things to do!

It's hard for working students to come together, but am confident we will do a great job! Please respond ASAP about Saturday.

Karen

firming up the details

dear all

I've been in contact with Kelly Carr re: our group project. the day (December 5th...next wedensday) and the time (6-9pm) will work for her...but the age group will be pre-teen and teen agers. Not exactly hip to the whole "story time, face painting" thing. We need to have suggestions for this age group ASAP.

In all honesty, I don't feel very confident that we will be getting a good grade in this class. My underconfidence is not a product of anyone in particular, but with the whole set-up in the first place. I think that we had a hard time getting approval, and we have had no luck getting together outside of class either. I blame myself equally for this apathy. What can we do to turn this around?

The following is my e-mail to Kelly, with our suggestions for activities. Again, most of these will not work for the age group involved. I want you all to know that I have worked with issues like this upset before, and I have done more with less...we just have to be creative and committed.

I look forward to hearing from all of you soon.

Kelly to Kelly...the first e-mail

Dear Kelly

How does this sound to you?

Thanks for getting back to me ASAP. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday...mine was super relaxed, something I am thankful for.

Hey guys! I understand we're still having issues with Child Focus and that we're looking into Karen's other option. I'm not sure where we are with that but I can try getting ahold of the Diocesan Childrens Home again. Thoughts?
